New York Day 3

Rained all day.  Floodwarnings on news with some parts of subway closed. The picture shows water pouring down  from ceiling in subway. We mistakenly decided to go shopping instead of sightseeing. Both got drowned! Safest place is our hotelroom which now has all our wet clothing, umbrellas and backpacks hanging of ever possible location. Early evening when the rain had stopped walked along 7th avenue to central park via a diversion to Broadway to buy our theatre tickets for School of Rock.

Visited Arlington Cemetery where JFK is buried and toured the cities war memorials. Vietnam Memorial is particularly moving as they have listed names of all the soldiers killed in action. Did a tour Capitol building and then went through the underground tunnel to the Library of Congress.

Walked to see Carrie Bradshaws Sex and the City steps, Magnolia Bakery, Hudson River and then up Canal St where they sell fake handbags etc. At sunset we went to Top of the Rock to view Sunset over New York City.
